Eating out

The Coves has a fully licenced restaurant at the clubhouse called The Oaks.  Open from Wednesday to Sunday offering all meals, takeaways and even creative cocktails.

We know there needs to be variety and date nights are for something a little more special.  Our residents have put together their favourite eating out venues.  Most are only, at the most, 20 minutes from The Coves. Aviators and Die Ou Pastorie are virtually our neighbours!

The Silver Orange

The Silver Orange Bistro is a unique restaurant set in Hartbeespoort on a lush green citrus orchard called Altyd Mooi which has been in the family since 1978.  Here you can find contemporary South African cuisine with an emphasis on local ingredients and clean flavours plus an award wining wine list which boasts both the best international and local wines.

Almost Orange Gin Bar

Situated amongst the citrus orchards on the same premises as the The Silver Orange, this is the place to go for great atmosphere and delicious tapas platters designed to shared.

The bar showcases a wide selection of gins, premium liquor, craft beer and hand selected wines.

Stef’s Table

This restaurant takes a little longer to get to as you have to cross over the dam wall but it’s exclusive and definitely perfect for a special occasion. Stef’s Table is a small, intimate restaurant hidden away in a rough-hewn rock building amidst lush greenery on the main road of Schoemansville.

Die Ou Pastorie

Not quite casual dining (it’s smarter than most) but not as exclusive as our Fine Dining collection. What’s lovely about it is the live music, good food and country garden feel. If you are looking for a treat but need to take the kids along, then this is the place for you. The kids will have fun exploring the gardens while you enjoy a lovely meal in a beautiful setting.

The Ale House

It’s in the country, overlooks the magnificent Magaliesberg Mountain range and has a very relaxed vibe. Good homemade brew and wood fired traditional pizzas. VISIT THE WEBSITE

Hong Far Thai restaurant

Hong Far Garden does not look very inviting from the road, but once inside you will enjoy Far’s lovely hospitality in a pretty garden setting. Enjoy tasty Thai food and good service.

Aviators Tavern and Brewing

Aviators is a family orientated establishment run by family and friends who all share the passion for good food, craft beer and Aviation. Great pizza, delicious curries and excellent coffee! Take the kids along and enjoy the country vibe, live music and aviation theme.

La Terazza

Great for reliable, delicious home cooked meals at a reasonable cost. Sometimes there’s live music on weekends and a small pub with sport on the TV’s.

Plaas se Gat

Great Sunday afternoon potjie or oxtail stew with live music on most weekends. It’s just a casual, under the trees farm like venue that has rustic charm, good food and craft beer. FIND THEM ON FACEBOOK
